Oooh, that feels so good!

"Justin" is the third Groenendael to be imported into the United States from Norway. He is adjusting very well to his new life in the USA. He is a very happy boy with a solid temperament. While he is reserved at first, he is forgiving, quick to trust and very eager to please. He has quickly bonded with his new families and friends - human (adults and kids - both male and female) and canine. Everything here is new for him - including the language, but he learns and adapts quickly and when the rules are explained to him and administered fairly and consistently, he accepts them with a "smile" and a wag of his tail.

Justin is exuberant in everything he does, which is not unusual for an adolescent boy. It is as if he has "springs in his feet" because he jumps over obstacles effortlessly! We will have to direct that talent towards agility so that he has a constructive outlet for his ability! He loves to play, especially with Windy (his Terv "sister" who greeted him at the airport upon his arrival to the US) and Bizzy, another Norwegian import Groenendael. This boy is a talker! He is a little more vocal than we would like to see (or hear) and when he gets worked up, his bark seems to be his release valve. We are working to help him focus on a task and channel his energies into something productive when this happens, and it seems to be working well so far! Although he can play for hours on end, he is also very affectionate and eager to get a goodly share of quiet cuddle time on the bed. Justin is a nice mix of intense Belgian activity and gentle, reflective, repose.

As we look back on the circumstances that brought Justin into our lives, we recognize that some things are "just meant to be." And Justin knows it too--you can see it in his eyes, and you know for sure when he smiles. Thanks Irene for getting him to us!
