Gabby was my gift that God sent me to help me get through a terrible time in
my life. She came to me just before I found out that our daughter had
cancer. I spend hours helping Elizabeth get through horrible chemo and
radiation treatments and endless doctor visits.
Gabby's silly sweet personality brought a ray of sunshine into our miserable
lives. There were times I thought she should go back to the breeder because
she wasn't getting enough attention... but she would make up her own exercise
games such as throwing her toys to herself to catch, beating up the other
adult dogs on a regular basis and running laps in the yard. I did force
myself to get her out to puppy class and that was good therapy for me and she
made it easy because whatever I try to teach her she learns so quickly.
Gabby is almost 2 years old now and Elizabeth is 18 and her cancer is in
remission, so Gabby's new games consist of Conformation, Obedience, Agility
and Tracking. She meets all with the same gusto she displayed as a puppy
throwing her squeaky toy around in the family room. Her motto is: LIFE IS
GOOD !!
