Never feed your dog immediately
before or after heavy exercise.
Large,
deep-chested breeds can be prone to a condition called "bloat," in
which gasses are trapped in the stomach and the stomach sometimes becomes
twisted. While the causes are unknown, bloat is a true emergency and
very often a fatal one.
Though
rare in the Belgian Sheepdog, most experts recommend that any dog be rested at
least one hour before and after eating.
