Whoopi...

CH Whoopi, HIC

We acquired Whoopi (CH Daimler's Dangerous Comedy) in the spring of 1999 when she was 15 months old. We felt that Windy needed a playmate, and only another Belgian would do.

Whoopi is an interesting dichotomy. She is an intense girl with an incredibly high prey drive, but she is gentle and affectionate with those she loves, and children hold a special place in her heart. In her world, she is a playful, happy girl. Her tail wags almost constantly, she smiles frequently, and her eyes sparkle! She is VERY eager to please and will turn on a dime when called - even when just one more bound would have caught fuzzy squirrel! She is not as social with the outside world as we would like, but we could not ask for a better or more loving family companion or "bed buddy" than our "Doodles."

DOB: 03/11/98

Unfortunately, Whoopi had her first seizure in January 2002 at just under 4 years of age, and has been spayed. Whoopi was bred by Diane and Terry Benz of Daimler Belgians and Kees. She is a "Trouble" daughter (CH Sundown's Highly Dangerous) and her sire is CH Mi-Sha-Ook's Aquila.

Doodles will live out the rest of her life with us as a treasured companion and guardian of our home.

At 13 years of age, after months of health issues of a gastro-intestinal nature,
almost overnight, the lymph glands under her jaw grew alarmingly to be the size of a large walnut in the shell under her skin. Then, she barely touched her favorite meal.
We looked into her beautiful, expressive eyes and we were able to see past the love to the pain.
With broken hearts, we held Whoopi as she left us.

We will see Whoopi again in what will then seem like only the blink of an eye.
Until then, we will miss her every day and love her always.

Where's Whoopi?

I look for you, but you're not there
not in the yard, or in your chair.

A breed champion, and oh so fair,
I miss your smile, and shiny hair.

You loved your time spent on the bed
and your last day we came to dread.

I hope you knew we loved you so,
And that is why we let you go.

Your heart was always full of love
now rest with the angels, up above.

Go in peace, our Doodle girl,
You were one of God's finest pearls.

I look for you, but you're not there,
not in the yard, or in your chair.
