CH Allstar's Windy
City, HIAs, CGC, TDI, TT
Windy is the foundation bitch for
Savanna Belgians. She is now retired from official competition.
We knew she was special from day
one.......but everyone should feel that way about their
puppy, shouldn't they?
Windy is
confident and self-assured. She has always been eager to
try new things and her enthusiasm has never been dampened
by the corrections or crashes in life that she encountered
along the way. While we did not purchase her for the conformation
ring, we agreed to finish her. She has enjoyed showing,
and because of her numerous successes in this venue, we
decided to continue to Special her. She did quite well playing
with the boys and received multiple
group placements. Windy was also invited to participate
in the inaugural AKC/Eukanuba Classic in Orlando in December
of 2001. Windy won
Best of Opposite Sex and an Award of Excellence there.

Windy had a wonderful show
career. She was nationally ranked in conformation for a
number of years, winning multiple Awards of Excellence,
Awards of Merit, and many group placements along the way.
In 2002, she was the ABTC's (and also the AKC's All-breed)
#1 bitch and top 10 Tervuren. She was also national ranked
in herding. Thanks always to Roxanne Chumbley for her unwavering
faith in Windy and skilled handling in the conformation
arena-- they were a team that was hard to beat! We also
offer our sincere gratitude to Sharol and Sean Hathaway
for teaching and trialing Windy in herding, and helping
her to develop her natural talent on sheep, earning multiple
High and Reserve High in Trial awards along the way. Although
she is working successfully at the Advanced level, we suspect
that her herding will be limited in the future to her own
sheep at home.
Windy has produced well in the whelping
box. In two Litters, she has produced
multiple champions - including multiple Best in Puppy Sweepstakes
and Best in Specialty show offspring. Many pups have performance
titles in agility, rally and herding, with more to come!
Still others are the center of their family's universe and
exemplary companions. We are excited to share some of these
pups with their families, and plan to have a Windy baby
or grand baby with us for many, many years to come!
More important than any
rosette or group placement though, is that Windy's temperament
is second to none. She loves people of all ages and sizes,
although she uses discretion when evaluating whether someone
new is friend or potentially a foe. Windy was a therapy
dog certified by Therapy Dogs International (TDI) and thoroughly
enjoyed the regular visits that we made to nursing homes.
Although there are no children living in our home, she loves
kids and is very gentle with them. She is good with other
dogs and has been evaluated as a "peacemaker."
She has no noise sensitivity and is confident and inquisitive
in new and unusual situations and on all types of footing.
She has tons of "attitude" and definitely has
a "naughty" side. She has a high ball drive and
is motivated by food. She loves our cats and Border Terriers!
Other than her insatiable craving for socks, she is easy
to live with and settles nicely in the house.

Although graying a bit in the muzzle
now, Windy is a beautiful bitch. At 22 1/4 inches tall,
there is a lot in this package!
While we do realize that she is
not without fault, her structure is excellent overall. She
has an exceptional front and shoulders and a good rear.
Her movement is clean coming and going and she has a good
side gait with reach and drive covering ground effortlessly.
She also has a solid, level top line when standing still
or gaiting. Whether in a natural show stack or everyday
life, she places each foot perfectly and stands naturally
square - still! She has a very sweet and attentive expression.
Her coat is thick and deep mahogany with a good deal of
overlay, and she has dark, rich pigmentation. She has a
full dentition, tight front scissors bite, but the occlusion
on the upper right is slightly off.
She has an almond eye with pleasing
color, although it could be darker. She has a nice tail
set, with ample length, rarely carried above parallel to
the top line (unless of course, she is feeling particularly
full of herself!)

Windy has been a once in
a lifetime dog. We are having a blast on our journey to
helping her to achieve her full potential! Windy has excelled
in everything we have asked her to do. She has been hindered
only by OUR limitations, which we are still striving to
overcome!

Windy is one of seven puppies
from the Allstar "It's About Time" litter. Five puppies
from the litter have completed AKC Championships, the sixth
is pointed, and the seventh was spayed as a young puppy
by the choice of her owners. There are HIC's, CGC's and
TDI's in this litter. Other performance titles have been
earned in herding and agility. All of the puppies were OFA'd
with excellent or good ratings and CERF'd.
